LSU Seeks Assistant Professor of Folklore

The Department of English at Louisiana State University (LSU) invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor of Folklore, beginning in August of 2026.
A Ph.D. in Folklore, or in related field with clear expertise in folklore, is required by the time the position begins. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach and direct undergraduate and graduate research on folklore studies, including but not limited to folklore and cultures of the Americas, such as the U.S. South, Louisiana, the Caribbean, and/or the Gulf Region. The Department is also interested in applicants working in/with digital folklore and other innovative methodologies.
