Academic Citations Evolve to Include Indigenous Oral Teachings
A librarian at the Alberta Library in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Lorisia MacLeod, has developed a citations template for indigenous oral teachings. The new citation template provides a means of including information such as the name of the source, the individual’s nation or community, the location where he or she lives, metadata concerning the topic of the teaching, as well as other information to properly credit the source. The citation templates are online and available in MLA and APA style.
