CFP: 2026 Perspectives on Contemporary Legend
The International Society for Contemporary Legend Research (ISCLR) is pleased to announce that the 43rd Perspectives on Contemporary Legend International Conference will be held in Lexington, KY, June 1–5, 2026. The local organizing committee has planned a week with excursions to historic sites (with ghosts), bourbon distilleries, music, and more. The conference will take place at Hilton Lexington/Downtown in the heart of the city, within easy walking distance to local eateries and attractions. Lexington is served by Blue Grass Airport and is within driving distance of major US cities in the East and Midwest.
Presentations will be 30 minutes (20 mins for presentation followed by discussion). Submissions of 300-word abstracts of relevance to contemporary legend should be sent to conference@contemporarylegend.org by March 2, 2026. An online presentation option is offered for those who cannot travel to Lexington. Please indicate if you intend to present remotely when you submit your abstract. Online panels will be limited to one session per day.
The registration fees for the 2026 Conference are $160 (for ISCLR members), $125 (for online presenters, students and companions) and $200 (for non-members). Excursion costs, refreshments on presentation days, and the banquet on Wednesday night are all included in the fees. The registration deadline is May 1, 2026.
