College of Music at Florida State University Seeks Assistant Professor of Musicology in Community Music

The Musicology area seeks an outstanding colleague who will assume a leadership role in shaping and implementing an innovative new undergraduate degree program in Community Music while also teaching graduate courses and seminars in the Musicology area.
The successful candidate will join current faculty in imagining and implementing new approaches to the discipline within a leading musicology program that is committed to breaking down traditional divides that have separated, siloed, and silenced groups and cultures.
They will engage with an environment that values collegiality, interdisciplinary, and hands-on music-making; participate in the recruitment and comprehensive mentorship of graduate students; contribute to rethinking, reevaluating, and enacting a twenty-first century musicological practice; establish a national presence as a socially responsible and innovative scholar prior to tenure; and provide support to their discipline and communities at all levels.
