Digest: A Journal of Foodways and Culture is the publication of the Foodways Section of the American Folklore Society. It launched in September 2012 as the online version of the original Digest: An Interdisciplinary Study of Food and Foodways, which began in 1977 and ran through 1999. Devoted to publishing work that explores aspects of food, culture, and identity, the journal includes peer-reviewed articles, as well as more moderately reviewed ethnographic and culinary historical research reports, creative pieces, recipes, archival materials, and book reviews related to foodways and culture.
