Jobs, Professional Opportunities

The Department of English at East Carolina University seeks applications from emerging scholars in linguistics, fiction writing, writing studies (rhetoric and composition and/or technical and professional communication), or Latinx/Latina/Latino/Hispanic literatures for four positions as Visiting Instructors or Visiting Assistant Professors (depending on qualifications) to begin August 15, 2022. Applications are accepted until April 24, 2022.

These full-time, non-tenure-track positions are for the fall and spring semesters of the 2022-2023 academic year only. Candidates will teach six courses over the year. Teaching duties are primarily in composition and/or business writing but will also include at least one English or interdisciplinary studies course in the candidate’s area of specialization. Candidates will also be expected to develop and pursue research projects and/or creative activity in their areas of specialization. They will work with mentors to grow as teachers and scholars and to prepare for the tenure-track job market.
