Feb. 2024 Fellows Vote: Proposed Bylaws Change
Dear AFS Fellows,
The bylaws changes approved at our business meeting in Portland pertaining to Fellows with non-US affiliations need to be voted upon by the general membership, through voting here. The complete bylaws with changes approved at the Portland meeting are attached, with changes indicated in yellow highlighting.
The revised bylaws incorporate the following changes:
*Eliminating the category of International Fellows.
*Nominees for Fellows with primary affiliations outside of the United States are distinguished as such in the election slate, but integrated with the general Fellows membership and not indicated as Fellows with primary affiliations outside of the United States once elected
*Fellows with primary affiliations outside of the United States will neither be required to pay dues to the AFS nor to the Fellows
Many thanks to the Ad Hoc Committee on International Fellows for their great work rethinking the International Fellows category and recommending bylaws changes. The committee members included Simon Bronner, Norma CantĂș, Diane Goldstein, Pauline Greenhill, Galit Hasan-Rokem, Sadhana Naithani and Amy Shuman.
