Florida Museum of Natural History Seeks Archaeology and Ethnography Collections Manager

The Florida Museum of Natural History (FM) is taking applications through August 16 for the position of Collections Manager for the South Florida Archaeology and Ethnography (SFAE) Collections within the Department of Natural History. This full-time, TEAMS exempt staff position will serve as the South Florida Archaeology and Ethnography Collections Manager and will report to the Curator of South Florida Archaeology and Ethnography. 

Duties include maintaining and upgrading archaeological and ethnographic collections; overseeing the SFAE collections and laboratory space; loan processing; collection accessions and deaccessions; coordinating and updating data management system; managing and supervising personnel, researchers, students, volunteers, and visitors; answering public inquiries; managing accounts, budgets, payroll, and purchasing; participating in public outreach engagements and events; participating in research; assisting in acquiring grant-funds as needed to support improvements and use of the collections; liaising with Indigenous communities and museums; and coordinating management of archaeology laboratory and collections at the FM’s Randell Research Center (RRC) with the RRC Operations Manager.
