Folklorist and AFS member Tim Tangherlini was recently interviewed by The Guardian for a story about COVID conspiracy theories. In the article, Tangherlini discusses how he and his colleagues at UCLA and Berkeley used Danish witchcraft folklore as a model for understanding how COVID conspiracies work. Specifically, he analyzes conspiracy theories that link Bill Gates and 5G technology to the virus outbreak.
