Maria Tatar Comments on the Resonance of the Tales about Mother-Daughter Relationships

The Harvard Gazette interviews Maria Tatar, in which she discusses her book “The Fairest of Them All: Snow White and 21 Tales of Mothers and Daughters” and how fairy tales (märchen) serve as narratives to “enact all the fantasies, fears, and terrors stored in our imagination that we are ordinarily afraid to talk about.” See:
