Organizers for the National Folk Festival are now accepting applications for the festival’s host city for its 2023-2025 festival dates. Review of applications begins December 1, 2021 and will continue until the winning application is selected.
The National Folk Festival is a free, large-scale three-day outdoor event that celebrates the roots, richness and variety of American culture. It features over 350 of the nation’s traditional musicians, dancers, craftspeople and other keepers of culture in performances, workshops, and demonstrations, plus children’s activities, savory regional and ethnic cuisines, participatory dancing, storytelling, parades, and more.
Through its partnership with the host city, the National Folk Festival promises economic and cultural benefits that unite communities in renewing civic pride, strengthening community collaborations, and spurring investments in community infrastructure.
And don’t forget to mark your calendars for the 81st National Folk Festival in Salisbury, Maryland August 26-28, 2022.
