NCTA’s August 2023 Resilience, Reframing, Actions Newsletter is Out Now

The National Council of Traditional Arts (NCTA) released the August 2023 edition of its Resilience, Reframing, Actions (RARRA) Newsletter, featuring resources for arts organizations and artists to find funding and support.

RARRA’s “Resource Alerts!” are monthly social media alerts of arts–related opportunities sourced from numerous various organizations and initiatives around the world. The posts seek to promote the sheer scope of resources available–from grants or sponsorships to informative blogs, professional and creative development programs, awareness initiatives, and more–which support the sustainability of artists and the arts.

Take a look at some numbers coming from the round-up of the April 2023 Resource Alert opportunities:

• A total of 20 opportunities have been highlighted–30% of said opportunities include rolling or multiple deadlines, or no specific submission date. Which means you can submit flexibly to your own timeline! Awards from the grants listed amount to a cumulative total of $194,000.
• 80% of the grants listed were opportunities specifically for individual artists or unincorporated ensembles, 10% were open to both individuals and nonprofits, and the remaining 10% are grants open to nonprofit organizations.
• A significant amount of these resources, 40%, are initiatives offering professional development or creative development opportunities for applicants, including artist residencies, fellowships, and training programs.
• 45% of listed resources are opportunities open to any artistic expression or discipline including folk and traditional arts.

Highlighted opportunities seek to represent as broad an array of practices, locations, areas of interest, and levels of support.
