Digest: A Journal of Foodways and Culture

DigestA Journal of Foodways and Culture is the publication of the Foodways Section of the American Folklore Society. It launched in September 2012 as the online version of the original Digest: An Interdisciplinary Study of Food and Foodways, which began in 1977 and ran through 1999. Devoted to publishing work that explores aspects of food, culture, and identity, the journal includes peer-reviewed articles, as well as more moderately reviewed ethnographic and culinary historical research reports, creative pieces, recipes, archival materials, and book reviews related to foodways and culture.
