New Directions in Folklore is the refereed online journal of the New Directions in Folklore Section (formerly [email protected]), an AFS-based community of over one hundred scholars, professionals, students, and interested laypersons dedicated to pushing the envelope of scholarship in the exploration of contemporary culture. In addition to mainstream topics of inquiry, the journal specializes in the exploration of subject matters that traditionally receive less attention in folkloristics, such as new media, the Internet, military folklore, and psychoanalytic approaches.
