SEM Interest Group for Music of the Francophone World Seeks to Sponsor Conference Papers

The Special Interest Group (SIG) for Music of the Francophone World seeks papers to sponsor for the Society for Ethnomusicology (SEM) 2021 annual meeting.

The SEM meeting will take place in Atlanta, Georgia on October 27–31, 2021. Co-chairs Roger Mason and Sarah Trouslard invite ideas for a paper to be sponsored by the SIG. Abstracts for papers must contain a maximum of 250 words.

At the SIG meeting in October, attendees discussed the possibility of organizing panels related to:

  1. The Triangle of France, Canada, and Louisiana
  2. Creolization in the Francophone World
  3. Linguistic, Racial, and/or Religious Diversity in France

They also welcome other paper and panel ideas.

Deadline: Please send materials by Sunday, January 31.
