Society for Ethnomusicology Seeks Full-Time Program Specialist
The Society for Ethnomusicology (SEM) seeks a full-time Program Specialist to begin work by early September 2021.
Founded in 1955, SEM is a global, interdisciplinary network of individuals and institutions engaged in the study of music across all cultural contexts and historical periods. The organization is based on the campus of Indiana University in Bloomington. Its staff are IU employees and receive full university benefits.
Program Specialist Position Summary: Assists with core programs (annual conference, publications, and academic prizes) of the Society. Manages membership services, member communications, marketing, and an extensive member database. Serves as assistant website editor, develops content for website and social media, coordinates online workgroups, assists with production of conference materials (including mobile app), and coordinates conference video-streaming. Manages organization’s financial transactions and records. Manages office operations and assists with special projects.
