The Traditional Arts/Archives Intern’s primary responsibilities will include digitization, organization, and cataloging of photographs, documents, and other ephemera representing South Arts traditional arts programs and initiatives since 1980. The intern will also have opportunities to engage with the Folklife in the South gathering, South Arts’ traditional arts grant programs, and South Arts’ communications staff.

This internship opportunity is part-time and can be completed partly in-person, at South Arts’ offices in Atlanta, GA, and partly remote. Compensation will be at a rate of $14/hour, for an estimated $3,500 over the entire summer (ten weeks at 25 hours/week).

This is a great opportunity for a graduate or advanced undergraduate student interested in American studies, anthropology, folk studies, history, library sciences, or another related program.

Applicants should email their resume, cover letter, and three references to Ellie Dassler at [email protected] by April 28, 2023.
