Register Now for the Final Conference of the “Claiming Folklore” Project in Switzerland

“Claiming Folklore – Politics and Practices of Folk Music on Swiss Television (1960s-1990s)” is a Swiss National Science Foundation-funded project based at the Institute of Social Anthropology and Empirical Cultural Studies – Popular Cultures at the University of Zurich (UZH). The final conference of this project, titled “Media, Modernity, and the Transformation of Tradition(s) – The Role of Audiovisual Media from an International Perspective,” will be held on September 8 and 9, 2025 at UZH.

The organizers have released the conference program. To facilitate planning, please register by August 31, 2025 via email to claimingfolklore@isek.uzh.ch. When registering, indicate whether you will attend both conference days or only one. Participation is free of charge.
