Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care Hosts Second Interdisciplinary Doctoral Symposium on Aging, Care, and Migration

On October 19-20, the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on Aging and Care will hold its Second Interdisciplinary Doctoral Symposium on Aging, Care, and Migration focusing on various dimensions of these topics during the course of life will take place virtually. 

On Day 1 of the symposium (October 19), Professor Sandra Torres (Uppsala University, Sweden), leading expert in the field of Social Gerontology and Migration Studies, will hold a workshop on “Managing Everyday Life as a Research-Focused Academic.” 

After the workshop, there will be a keynote by Professor Torres on “Caring democracy: the role that theoretically-astute understandings of ethnicity and race must play,” followed by a discussion. On Day 2 (October 20), the doctoral symposium will feature presentations by PhD students from various disciplines with a focus on aging, care and migration.
