CFP: Mountains and Plains: Past, Present and Future Environmental and Climatic Entanglements
The European Society for Environmental History (ESEH) is pleased to invite proposals for the 12th Biennial Conference themed Mountains and Plains: Past, present and future environmental and climatic entanglements. The conference will be hosted at the University of Bern on August 22-26, 2023.
The conference theme of environmental history has been chosen in connection to Bern’s closeness to the Alps and it points to a much broader set of historiographical issues. They also invite contributions on teaching and communicating environmental history to a wider public (e.g., schools, university pedagogics, public outreach, citizen science). Furthermore, submissions are encouraged from related academic disciplines and interdisciplinary fields, such as archaeology, anthropology, digital humanities, infrastructure studies and geography.
The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2022. Learn more about submission policies here.
