Museum of International Folk Art Seeks Director of Curatorial Affairs

The Director of Curatorial Affairs provides strategic and organizational leadership essential to the Museum of International Folk Art’s (MOIFA) mission to shape a humane world by connecting people through creative expression and artistic traditions. This position serves as the curatorial team lead and is responsible for overall exhibit strategy and schedule, as well as engaging audiences and partners using interactive, digital, and collaborative techniques. The Director of Curatorial Affairs is a key position, serving the public face of the museum, and works to connect the museum with a broad range of constituents, including collaborators, artists, community partners, and local, national, and international audiences through traveling exhibitions, relationship building, and programming outreach.

Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Museology, Art, Art History, Art Administration, Anthropology, American Studies, Archaeology, Curatorial Studies, History, Humanities, Interdisciplinary Studies, Liberal Arts, Public History, or Paleontology and four (4) years of experience in exhibit development, collections management, curation, creative writing, conducting research in specialty area of a museum, and working with historical concepts. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.

Salary Range: $59,739 – $95,582 Annually
