Piedmont Blues Preservation Society Seeks Interim Executive Director

Piedmont Blues Preservation Society (PBPS) is a cultural, educational, and historical 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Greensboro, North Carolina. PBPS was established in 1985 and it engages communities with Blues as culture by serving a 150-mile radius around the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina, including southern Virginia through educational programs, cultural presentations, and community engagements authentically representing Blues culture for communities-at-large with local communities’ support for Blues culture and artists.

PBPS is currently looking for an experienced nonprofit professional as Interim Executive Director who can guide its organizational development and establish robust operational infrastructure over a two-year period. This is a part-time opportunity to help the organization complete its transition from being a presenter to functioning as a cultural institution and that serves its mission of engaging communities with Blues as culture.

The ideal candidate will be an accomplished nonprofit leader who can:

  • Design and document core nonprofit procedures and practices
  • Establish financial management systems
  • Ensure compliance requirements are current
  • Create comprehensive fundraising strategies
  • Develop staffing structure and workplace culture
  • Prepare the organization for transition to a permanent executive director
  • Strengthen board engagement and structure
