Postdoctoral Research Fellow Position – Folklore and Language Archive

Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Folklore and Language Archive (MUNFLA) is offering a postdoctoral fellowship for a Community Engaged Research Specialist. The fellow will work closely with MUNFLA staff and the Folklore Archive Committee, under the direction of Dr. Kelley Totten, to assist in the restructuring and development of collections policies, new program initiatives, grant writing, and archival research.

They are seeking a postdoctoral fellow with expertise and/or interest in the following:

  • Archival/Collections-based research
  • Archival/Collections-based management
  • Indigenization/Decolonization practices in archives/collections
  • Community engaged research and public programming
  • Grant writing

Qualifications

PhD in Folklore, Library/Archive/Musuem Studies, Ethnomusicology, Cultural Anthropology, or related field. Experience working in ethnographic archives/ museum collections and/or grant writing strongly preferred.

Salary: $50,000 per annum
