The Alliance for California Traditional Arts is Hiring a Program Manager in Fresno, CA

As part of ACTA’s statewide program team, the Program Manager will work closely with artists, culture bearers, community partners, and institutions to develop and support public programs such as festivals, concerts, workshops, apprenticeships, and local convenings. The role includes providing technical assistance to artists and small cultural groups, supporting fiscally sponsored projects, coordinating fieldwork and media documentation, and helping to guide a newly formed folklife consortium in Fresno.

This hybrid position requires three days per week in ACTA’s Fresno office and regular in-person fieldwork across the region.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or comparable professional experience.
  • Minimum three years of experience in community-based arts, community organizing, public folklore, applied anthropology, or related work.
  • Deep commitment to ACTA’s mission, cultural equity, and social justice.
  • Clear communication skills across writing, speaking, facilitation, and relationship-building.
  • Experience with event production, media documentation, and project organization.
  • Familiarity with California’s cultural landscape and experience with BIPOC, multilingual, and under-resourced communities.
  • Spanish or another Central Valley language is a plus; lived experience as a culture bearer is highly valued.

Pay and Benefits
ACTA’s pay range for this position is $71,500/year to $85,000/year, depending on experience. Excellent benefits are provided, including medical, dental, FSA plan, life insurance, 403(b) retirement contribution, wellness stipend, paid sick days, and holidays.
