Western Folklore Calls for Book Reviewers

Western Folklore is seeking book reviewers for a slew of recent titles in folklore and related fields.
Editors welcome all inquiries and are especially pleased to hear from graduate students, junior faculty, public folklorists, and independent scholars who wish to contribute a review to the journal. The turnaround time for single-title reviews is typically two months, though submission deadlines can be negotiable.
Western Folklore reviews of single works are generally 500-900 words long, and should be formatted according to the journal’s guidelines. Some titles may have affinities of subject or theme that potentially draw them together. Reviewers who wish to cover two or more related titles in a single review may write a combined review of up to 1200 words.
Contact the review editor, Afsane Rezaei, at [email protected] with any questions.
The list of currently available titles can be accessed via the online form. Those interested in reviewing one or more items or who would like to propose a new book/film/exhibit for review may indicate that in the form.
