Save the Date: January 31 and February 1, 2025 for the Inaugural Zora Neale Hurston Summit

The Zora Neale Hurston Trust has announced that it will present the inaugural Zora Neale Hurston Summit on January 31 and February 1, 2025 in New York, NY.

The Summit will be a multidisciplinary event celebrating the arts, humanities, and culture held on the campus of Barnard College, where Zora was the first Black student to graduate in 1928. It will celebrate the legacy and life of Zora Neale Hurston by:

  • Bringing her literary contributions to life
  • Celebrating Zora’s anthropological work
  • Showcasing Zora’s gift of storytelling in the oral tradition
  • Illuminating Zora’s connections to pop culture
  • Honoring Zora’s significant theatrical strides
  • Revealing Zora’s overall influence on artists, academics, and everyday people from all walks of life.

This event will be free to the public.
