AFS Announces Recipients of Its 2025 Graduate Fieldwork Grant

The American Folklore Society is pleased to announce the recipients of its 2025 Graduate Fieldwork Grant. The grants this year are awarded to:
- Maygan Barker (Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador)
- Touhidul Islam (Indiana University Bloomington)
- Olivia Phillips (Indiana University Bloomington)
- Salma Valadez-Marquez (University of Oregon)
The American Folklore Society offers these grants in support of field research by graduate students pursuing careers in folklore. The main purpose of the grant program is to foster excellence in folklore research by allowing students to develop ambitious projects grounded in long-term ethnographic engagement.
