Save the Date: 2026 Annual Meeting of the Louisiana Folklore Society (LFS)
The Louisiana Folklore Society (LFS) will hold their 2026 Annual Meeting at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, LA, January 23–24, 2026.
The theme for the conference is “Pixilated: Digital Folklore and the Folk We’ve Become.” The organizers welcome students, academics, public folklorists, and community members to submit proposals related to the theme and they invite proposals that explore topics such as: digital vernacular culture in Louisiana, memes, viral videos, online folklore, digital storytelling practices, online narrative communities, and internet communities as folk groups in Louisiana. They are also interested in proposals on anything else pertaining to current issues and/or the folk and knowledge in the state.
Call for papers is now open, and the LFS will accept submissions until December 6, 2025. To submit, please email a 250-word abstract for a 15–20 minute presentation to Louisianafolklore@gmail.com with subject line LFS 2026.
