CFP: Southern Foodways Alliance Oral History Program 2025

The Southern Foodways Alliance (SFA) oral history program invites experienced oral historians to submit proposals for oral history projects surrounding themes of agriculture, farmers markets, and gardening traditions in the region. SFA documents, studies, and explores the diverse food cultures of the changing American South and is committed to supporting community-centered work.
SFA compensates oral historians for their work and reimburses travel costs of 25 miles or more. It also provides modest honorariums to each narrator featured in an SFA oral history project. A proposal should include a 300-word pitch and a list of proposed narrators, a CV or Resume, and examples of previous oral history work. Questions about the application process can be sent to SFA lead oral historian Annemarie Anderson at annemarie@southernfoodways.org. Applications are due February 14, 2025.
