Jared L. Schmidt Now Editor of New Directions in Folklore

Jared L. Schmidt is the new editor of the AFS New Directions in Folklore Section’s online, peer-reviewed journal, New Directions in Folklore. The section and the journal are dedicated to pushing the envelope of scholarship in the exploration of contemporary culture.

Dr. Schmidt has been an active leading voice in both NDiF and AFS for years and previously served as the journal’s Review Editor. 

As part of the journal’s 2022 agenda, the editorial team is currently accepting submissions for articles that meet its mission, including the following special issues:

• Being a Folklorist During a Global Pandemic
• Folklore and Mental Health
