Katherine Borland, past AFS Executive Board member and Director of the Ohio State University Center for Folklore Studies, will give the opening keynote on June 20 at the upcoming SIEF congress in Helsinki, Finland.
Borland’s presentation, “Slow Activism: Lessons from Citizen Scientists,” explores the concepts of slow activism and thinking like a watershed based on her work from a five-year collaborative ethnography project located in Southeastern Ohio.
