Millie Tullis Receives 2022 Polly Stewart Student Travel Stipend

Millie Tullis (Graduate student at Utah State University) received the 2022 Polly Stewart Student Travel Stipend.

The Polly Stewart Student Travel Stipend is given by the Women’s Section to students whose work demonstrates a commitment to the study of women’s folklore, gender issues in folklore, or feminist approaches to the study of folklore.

Tullis’ work seeks to illuminate women’s often unrecognized folk practices within Mormon communities, reinforcing the central role of women’s love magic in family structures and narratives throughout the 20th and 21st centuries. It has become imperative to bring these traditions out of the margins.
