Memorial University’s Folklore and Language Archive (MUNFLA) was established in 1968 by folklorists Dr. Herbert Halpert and Violetta Maloney Halpert; its main mandate is to facilitate research on Newfoundland and Labrador culture and to archive such material in order to make a permanent record for future generations. MUNFLA’s extensive holdings contain diverse materials used by researchers, writers, musicians, film and television producers, heritage organizations, and keen community members.

As part of its ongoing work to provide experiential learning opportunities, MUNFLA is seeking an Archival Assistant. This position is for 35 hours per week for 12 weeks (Monday, May 5, 2025 to Friday, July 25, 2025). Rate of pay is $25.43 per hour. Deadline to apply is Friday, April 18, 2025. Email applications may be sent to munfla@mun.ca.
