Selina Morales Receives Public Folklore Annual Meeting Award

Selina Morales is the recipient of the 2023 AFS Independent / Public Programs Section Public Folklore Travel Stipend, which is awarded to a professional public folklorist who earns a significant portion of their income from independent consulting work or as an independent scholar.

The AFS Public Programs and the Independent Folklorists sections offer an Annual Meeting Award to attend the AFS Annual Meeting. The award supports costs such as transportation, meeting registration, lodging and/or per diem expenses) for an independent folklorist who is working within the field of public programming to attend the annual meeting and to present their work.

Selena is a dedicated public programming professional with many years of experience working independently in the field. She mentors young professionals and has done much to elevate the field within the public sphere.
