Sign Up for the Breakfast with a Fellow at the 2024 Annual Meeting

The AFS Fellows are currently taking names for registration for the Breakfast with a Fellow event, which will take place at the Annual Meeting of the American Folklore Society in Albuquerque on Friday, November 8, from 7 – 8:30 a.m. in the Anasazi room of our venue this year.
Breakfast with a Fellow allows for graduate students to sit down at a table and have meaningful discussions with established folklorists. This year’s fellows are an engaging group: Charles Briggs, Patricia Sawin, Guha Shankar, and Andrea Kitta. Students will explore topics like performance studies, narrative, community-based research, legend and belief studies, and many other worthy topics with these distinguished hosts.
To register, please respond to Charles Exdell, cexdell@iu.edu, by October 11 with your top three choice of fellows to sit with in descending order.
In addition, graduate students are invited to the Fellows Reception for Graduate Students on Friday, November 8, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., in the Picarus room of the conference’s venue. There will be a raffle giveaway with books, certificates, and other cool items at this event.
