Portland teachers strike for wrap-around services for students; schools that are safe, well-maintained, and fully staffed; and educator resources. AFS is supporting Portland teachers by offering access to professional development workshops at the Annual Meeting and information about opportunities for meeting attendees to support and participate in the strike.

AFS has just learned that teachers in the Portland city school district plan to strike starting Wednesday Nov. 1. We want participants in the meeting to be aware of the impending strike and to learn ways to support the teachers where possible.
