The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) announces the 2025 Leading Edge Fellowship program, offering 16 two-year fellowship opportunities with mission-driven social justice nonprofits for recent humanities and interpretive social sciences PhDs. Each Leading Edge Fellow will earn a minimum yearly stipend of $70,000 that increases in the second year. Application deadline is March 12, 2025, 9:00 PM EDT. The Folklore Society (FLS) will hold its 2025 annual conference at University College Cork, Ireland from Friday 20 June to Sunday 22 June 2025. The theme is "Folklore and the Senses". Deadline for submitting a proposal is Friday 31 January 2025.
The Zora Neale Hurston Trust will present the inaugural Zora Neale Hurston Summit on January 31 and February 1, 2025 at Barnard College in New York, NY. This event will be free to the public.
The 17th International Society for Ethnology and Folklore (SIEF) congress will take place at the University of Aberdeen in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK 3–6 June 2025. Call for panels, roundtables, workshops and combined formats is open until 7 October 2024.
Arts Midwest is now accepting applications for Cultural Sustainability: Equity-Based Operating Grants, a pilot program that offers grants of up to $67,000 to small arts and culture organizations that are rooted in communities of color. Applications close at 11:59 pm CT on October 15, 2024. Grants will be made in January 2025. An informational webinar will be held at 1pm CT, September 19, 2024.
The National Leaders of Color Fellowship (LoCF) application will open on Monday, September 16.
