"Claiming Folklore – Politics and Practices of Folk Music on Swiss Television (1960s-1990s)" is a Swiss National Science Foundation-funded project based at the University of Zurich (UZH). The final conference of this project, titled "Media, Modernity, and the Transformation of Tradition(s) – The Role of Audiovisual Media from an International Perspective," will be held on September 8 and 9, 2025. Wiki Loves Folklore is an international photographic contest where the photographers can contribute media about their local folk culture to Wikimedia Commons under free licenses to be used on Wikipedia and any other places with attribution. The contest runs from February 1 through March 31, 2025. A separate Feminism and Folklore Writing Competition is held at the same time.

The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) announces the 2025 Leading Edge Fellowship program, offering 16 two-year fellowship opportunities with mission-driven social justice nonprofits for recent humanities and interpretive social sciences PhDs. Each Leading Edge Fellow will earn a minimum yearly stipend of $70,000 that increases in the second year. Application deadline is March 12, 2025, 9:00 PM EDT. The Folklore Society (FLS) will hold its 2025 annual conference at University College Cork, Ireland from Friday 20 June to Sunday 22 June 2025. The theme is "Folklore and the Senses". Deadline for submitting a proposal is Friday 31 January 2025.
The Zora Neale Hurston Trust will present the inaugural Zora Neale Hurston Summit on January 31 and February 1, 2025 at Barnard College in New York, NY. This event will be free to the public.

Arts Midwest is now accepting applications for Cultural Sustainability: Equity-Based Operating Grants, a pilot program that offers grants of up to $67,000 to small arts and culture organizations that are rooted in communities of color.
