The Folklore Society (FLS) will hold its 2025 annual conference at University College Cork, Ireland from Friday 20 June to Sunday 22 June 2025. The theme is "Folklore and the Senses". Deadline for submitting a proposal is Friday 31 January 2025.

The Zora Neale Hurston Trust will present the inaugural Zora Neale Hurston Summit on January 31 and February 1, 2025 at Barnard College in New York, NY. This event will be free to the public.
The Faculty of Arts at University of Ljubljana invites folklorists, ethnologists and anthropologists, sociologists, psychologists, thanatologists, as well as scholars from other disciplines who deal with the dead in contemporary society to submit an abstract and participate in the 2nd DEAGENCY Conference to be held between 2–4 July 2025 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The deadline for submission of applications is 31 December 2024.
The latest issue of Folklorica, the journal of the Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Folklore Association, has been released. Folklorica is a fully open access journal. No subscription is required.
This year, AFS members will vote for President-Elect, two seats on the Executive Board, and one seat on the Nominating Committee. Those elected will take office on January 1, 2025. The voting deadline is December 23 11:45am ET.
The Department of the History of Art and Architecture at Tufts University invites graduate students to submit paper proposals for their 2025 Graduate Symposium "Praxis and Promise: Reenvisioning Art Historical Methodologies for Cultural Heritage". The symposium will be held on April 18, 2025 in Medford, MA. Proposals are due by December 20, 2024.
The University of Oregon’s Department of English invites applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Late Medieval Literature and Culture to begin September 2025. Application deadline is November 30, 2024.
The American Folklore Society will gather for its 137th Annual Meeting in Atlanta, Georgia from October 18 to 21, 2025. It will be following the 2025 Oral History Association Annual Meeting and be followed by the 2025 Society for Ethnomusicology Annual Meeting. Call for Proposals will be announced in the spring of 2025.
